They respect your pace.
A safe person doesn't push for personal information, pressure you to move platforms, or make you feel like the conversation is going somewhere you didn't choose to go.
Their story is consistent.
A safe person doesn't contradict themselves on basic facts. If their age, location, or backstory shifts between messages, pay attention.
They ask about you, not just your data.
Safe people are curious about who you are — your thoughts, your experiences, your perspective. Unsafe people want to extract: location, appearance, contact info.
Trust your gut above all else.
If something feels off, it probably is. You don't need to explain why, and you don't owe anyone a conversation that makes you uncomfortable. Leave.
